I woke up early in the morning today (6:40 a.m., yeah that’s early for me) , scratching my balls……..eye balls (don’t think anything else.). I thought that it would be just like any other normal day, but time had some other plans or I guess the Bangladeshis had. When I reached office, to my surprise Arpan sir was already there. He never came before 11:00 a.m., but today it’s 10:00 a.m. Well electricity also said bye-bye for the time being as I entered office (Bad luck follows me). Me, Mintu (only employee present there except the cooks) and Arpan sir discussed about each other childhoods activities and tussles that we had during school days. Arpan sir went to kitchen for Breakfast. Enters Sarat with a damn ‘fcuking’ news, “Bomblast in Ganeshguri”. He got information from Dev who stayed at Christian Basti. At first we thought it to be a rumor but dev would’ve never lie regarding such a topic. Whew! arrives Dev and Prem (The Manager) as electricity comes back. Dev Confirms the news. Meanwhile sir finished having his breakfast.

We all sat back at the computers to work. But soon Pankaj sir gave news thru Google talk (Thanks technology) that there had been multiple Blasts in Guwahati. It was Shocking for all of us. I just got almost paralyzed, as my sister was out in College. I tried her phone, but thanks to the Relience Network. It never worked during emergency. I connected my self to Yahoo messenger with Voice. I still had $4.36 left in my voice account (thanks to David). Meanwhile Deb Bhaiya (My Neighbour) called me up and told me about the blasts. He was also trying ma sister’s no. I tried her no. a lot and Deb Bhaiya’s no. too. Thanks Again Relience Network. Atlast I was connected to my sister’s phone thru Yahoo Messenger (Thanks Technology). She told me she was stuck in a carpool in ABC near Dona Planet. I told her to wait at Dona Planet till I pick her up to my office. By the time reached Dona Planet (had to walk a long way from Apsara Bus Stand To Dona Planet, as Road communication was blocked for public), she left with Ashish (one of my friend) and her sister Puja. For about half an hour or so I tried her and Deb Bhaiya’s no., at last I got Deb Bhaiya online. While I was talking to Deb Bhaiya, she called me from Ashish’s Phone that Ashish and her sister Puja had met her at Dona Planet. They risked their life on their way back to home by foot thru Ganesh Mandir. I told them to be careful and left for office again on my limbs as I couldn’t risk going after them, since series of blasts continued and Pan Bazaar and Fancy Bazaar area also rocked.

I was back in office by walking again,  after running two sticks of Nicotine in my blood stream. As i reached office panting, i found everybody discussing the blast topic since electricity also betrayed us at the moment, like the Tarun’s Govt. Mintu got furious upon me when he came to know that id didn’t went after my sister. I told him that I couldn’t risk going after them and that too walking thru Ganeshguri when three consecutive blast have occurred. Meanwhile we all keep trying our phone to reach our relatives. Meanwhile Sarat and Prem went for their lunch and I exhausted all my balance on the cell phone, calling home. Just then my sister called me from Ganeshguri that they took refuge in Dispur College as the police was firing at the mob in Ganeshguri. I told them to be careful and not to leave the college until the situation is under Control.

I then Had my lunch, but I could barely eat anything after this apocalyptic disaster. I just had 3-4 hands of rice. After half an hour or so as Prem and Sarat were about to leave, I tried my sister’s no. from Prem’s phone and she shocked me telling that she was in Ganesh Mandir stuck in the Lathi Charge by Police and told me to call Ajay (My Neighbor) as he had came to pick her up. While we were talking Ajay came and took her in his bike, and Aashish and her sister went with their Uncle. I took a sigh of relief, but still worried as anything might happen. I couldn’t go out of the office anymore as the series of blasts continued and curfew was implemented on the city and red alert was declared in the state. So I had to stay at the office. I called home and asked whether sister reached or not. I got relief to hear her voice. I told mom that today I’ll stay at office.

Now staying alone (not really as Mintu also was here) was really boring. Thanks to internet, i could pass my time. I connected to NDTV and Aaj Tak and streamed the video of the live news and watched them till dinner. Mintu was busy in Building his site about Bomblasts. I am depressed and need to refresh my mind. Thanks to the girls, both Jenna’s,  sunny and Rebecca. I could my divert my mind watching their movies. At times me and Mintu kept on discussing about the blast. At 3 O’Clock we went to sleep after watching SAW I.
